Presentation: Bridging the Gap between Digital and Physical: The Circular Economy in the Metavers

Iliana Papamichael has studied Chemical Engineering (2014-2019) and holds an integrate Master’s in chemical engineering (2019) from the National Technical University of Athens. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Open University of Cyprus and the Laboratory of Chemical Engineering and Engineering Sustainability (2021-current). Her PhD thesis focuses on the quantification of environmental performance using Key Performance Indicators in urban settings. Her scientific interests and research background involve: unified waste metrics, gamification of environmental performance, waste management digitalization methods, Strategic planning development, circular economy, zero waste approach, waste prevention etc., waste minimization monitoring and evaluation, End of waste criteria, Sustainable development programs (environmental, social culture and economics), Environmental Impact and Environmental Risk Assessment Analysis / multi criteria analysis models / LCA / SWOT-PESTEL analysis, EMAS, ISO 14001 etc.
