Pedro Lorenzo

Environmental engineer specialized in business development and R&D management. I have more than 8 years of experience in Europe and North America both in the public and private sectors, but also in the academic and scientific fields.

At the institutional level, I have been Sustainability Project Manager elaborating environmental strategic plans for the Dutch Ministry of Public Health and Environment. Simultaneously, I have actively participated issuing technical reports and recommendations for the EU in Circular Economy policy.

In the private sector, my experience includes positions such as Sustainability Senior Consultant in Bureau Veritas, where my main responsibilities were coordinating and giving advice to European clients in terms of sustainability, biorefinery, environmental regulation and certification schemes.

Regarding the academia, I have worked as researcher and assistant professor in environmental engineering and geography for the Radboud University and other institutions. Additionally, I have several publications on environmental economy, conservation, and sustainable public policies.

At present, as Strategic Project Manager at ECONWARD, I am responsible for promoting long-term projects and ensuring effective business development in EU, UK, and USA markets. My main duties include comprehensive management of the technical, commercial, and financial departments, establish and strengthen the relationships with partners, R&D institutions, and public bodies, and provide insight into the commercial direction and shareholders.

Degree in Environmental Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid and in Environmental Engineering from Ludwig Maximilian University (Munich, Germany). In addition, Master of Science in Environmental Management and Engineering from the Radboud University (Nijmegen, The Netherlands).
