Presentation Title: Trashing the Old Ways: How the Arabian Peninsula Fast-Tracks Sustainable Solid Waste Management Practices

Tarik Al Ghafri has over five years of experience in sustainable and integrated solid waste management, circular economy, material recovery, business development, and environmental management. In his previous roles, he worked as a project and sector development analyst at the Implementation Support and Follow-up Unit (ISFU), business development Specialist and Environmental Executive at Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be’ah), and Business Development Manager and Principal Environmental Consultant at Geo Resources Consultancy International (GRCI) in Oman. Tarik is currently in his second master’s degree in science specializing in International Material Flow Management (Trier University of Applied Sciences, Germany), and holds a master’s degree in Environment with a specialty in Waste Management (University of Melbourne, Australia) and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Geoscience and Geography (West Virginia University, USA).
